Terms of Service

ProofLink is a service operated by Orange-Hat, LLC (“we”, “us”) that lets you create a cryptographic fingerprint of text or a file and optionally anchor that fingerprint to the DigiByte blockchain. By using ProofLink you agree to these Terms.

ProofLink is not legal advice, a notary, an attorney, or a guarantee that a court will accept your proof as evidence. It produces cryptographic timestamps, not legal validity. For important matters always consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.

You retain full ownership of any text or file you prove. ProofLink never uploads or stores your file content — only a unique SHA-256 fingerprint is recorded. The title, description, and fingerprint you submit are stored on our servers and, if you choose to stamp, recorded on the DigiByte blockchain where they become permanent and public.

You represent that you have the right to record a fingerprint of any content you submit.

You agree not to use ProofLink to:

• Record content you do not have the right to record (including copyrighted material you don’t own)
• Upload content whose title, description, or filename is unlawful, harassing, or deceptive
• Attempt to disrupt, probe, or abuse the service
• Resell or rebrand the service as your own

Stamping a proof writes its fingerprint to the DigiByte blockchain. Once written, we cannot delete or change it— it is maintained by thousands of independent computers worldwide. You should only stamp content you’re comfortable having in a permanent public record.

Stamping a proof to the blockchain requires a fee in DigiByte (DGB), payable to a one-time address generated for your proof. Fees are non-refundable once the blockchain transaction is broadcast.

Stamp fees and any voluntary tips go toward running ProofLink — covering DigiByte network costs, hosting, and ongoing development. Fees are subject to change with notice.

ProofLink is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orange-Hat, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

ProofLink authenticates users via Digi-ID, a DigiByte-based signing protocol. Your identity on the service is your DigiByte address. You are responsible for keeping your wallet and private key secure. If you lose access to your wallet, we cannot recover your proofs or sign on your behalf.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
