1. The short version
ProofLink is designed to know as little about you as possible. We never see or store the content of your files — only a SHA-256 fingerprint of it, which cannot be reversed back into the original content. We don’t run third-party analytics, we don’t sell data, and we don’t need your name or email to use the service.
2. What we store about your proofs
When you create a proof, we store:
- The title and description you type in
- The SHA-256 fingerprint of your content
- The DigiByte address that signed the proof (if signed)
- The DigiByte transaction ID (if stamped)
- Timestamps of each step (created, signed, stamped)
We do not store the original text or file content. The fingerprint is computed in your browser and on our server for verification — the underlying bytes never leave your device in the case of files, and are discarded immediately after hashing in the case of pasted text.
3. Cookies and sessions
When you sign in with Digi-ID, we set a single encrypted session cookie so the site remembers you are signed in. It contains your DigiByte address and an expiration time, and nothing else. We don’t use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.
4. Blockchain data is public
When you choose to stamp a proof, the fingerprint is written to the DigiByte blockchain via an OP_RETURN transaction. Blockchain data is public and permanent— anyone can read it, and no one (including us) can delete it. The on-chain record does not include your title or description, only the fingerprint prefixed with “prooflink.digistamp.co:”.
5. What we do NOT do
- We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracker
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone
- We do not send marketing email (we don’t even ask for your email)
- We do not build ad profiles
- We do not store file contents — only fingerprints
6. Operational logs
Our servers keep short-lived logs of requests (IP address, URL path, timestamp) for security and debugging. These are rotated regularly and are not used to profile users. If you submit feedback via the feedback form, we retain that submission so we can read and respond to it.
7. Third parties we rely on
ProofLink runs on our own infrastructure and the DigiByte network. We do not hand off user data to SaaS vendors. The only “third party” your proofs interact with is the DigiByte blockchain itself, which is a decentralized public network.
8. Your rights
Because we store so little, there’s not much to request. You can:
- Revoke a proof you own (hides it from the public page — the on-chain stamp remains, since blockchain data is permanent)
- Sign out at any time to end your session
- Contact us via the feedback form to ask about your data
9. Children
ProofLink is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this Policy
If we update how we handle data, we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced on the site.
